Fishcare Public Fund – Starting in 2022
The intention of the Fishcare VIctoria Public Fund is to invest in projects that align with Fishcare Victoria objectives which are:
Encourage recreational fishers to adopt sustainable behaviors and attitudes that conserve and protect fish stocks and increase community stewardship.
Inform the community about threats affecting the sustainability of Victorians fish stocks, integrity of fish habitats and aquatic ecosystems.
Activities that support sustainable recreational fishing practices and opportunities, improved environmental outcomes and collection of research data.
Promote sustainable recreational fishing as a socially beneficial and inclusive activity.
Collaborate with partner organisations that support Fishcare Victoria’s mission and objectives.

What we fund
ENVIRONMENTAL & FISH HABITAT WORKS
Purchase of Plants
Purchase of root balls & habitat structures

EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES
Printing of sustainable fishing and environmental educational resources

EQUIPMENT
(Schools Only)
Purchase of Fishing equipment – including green tackle

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION & SUSTAINABLE FISHING WORKSHOPS
Support materials and costs (not including catering or travel) for educational workshops

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligiable for funding applicants must:
Have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
Provide an Incorporation Number
Be located and operate in Victoria
Demonstrate how the grant will help support Fishcare Victoria objectives
Have the capacity to provide photos and a report at the end of the project

Grant Round 1
Opens May 1, 2022 and closes on May 30, 2022
Grant Round 2
Opens November 1, 2022 and closes on November 30, 2022
