Welcoming our new Facilitator – Ian Whiteside

Fishcare Victoria welcomes Ian Whiteside as our newly appointed Facilitator for Port Phillip & Westernport.

Ian has a wealth of fishing knowledge & experience across the state, and a lifetime of assisting community. His backyard is situated on the Northern side of Port Phillip Bay and loves chasing Snapper, Gummy Shark and Whiting most often. He is passionate about caring for fish habitat and encouraging sustainable fishing practices for our future.

Helping to educate about the importance of our precious fishing resources seemed a perfect fit for Ian, and Fishcare clinics will benefit from his broad knowledge, bright energy, and always-learning attitude!

He is happy to share a tip, or chat about fishing generally, Ian particularly enjoys working with our Fishcare Volunteers, who bring a further layer of experience & expertise to our popular programs, and are the real backbone of our continued success.

You’ll find Ian in the coming months at one of our many Fishcare clinics planned across Port Phillip & Westernport – from Port Melbourne to Mornington to Corinella, and so many places in-between.
Please say g’day if you do!
