Sarah holds qualifications in Environmental Science and Park Management and completed her honours thesis on the role of motivation in recreational fishing. Her experience spans Parks Victoria, local government and the Landcare, from ranger duties on the Yarra River and at Wilsons Promontory to supporting community groups with environmental projects and funding.

At Fishcare, Sarah combines her skills in leadership, partnerships, volunteer support and creative communications with a commitment to fairness and inclusion. She believes fishing can build confidence, strengthen friendships and support wellbeing while encouraging care for our waterways. Away from work, Sarah loves travelling and camping around Australia with her young family and heading out for a hike, enjoying the outdoor connections she helps others discover through Fishcare.

Dan’s experience has taken him from managing recreation programs at a Caribbean resort to crafting custom fishing rods through his own business. He has represented fishing and action brands as an ambassador and contributed to The Captain Magazine, sharing his knowledge and love of fishing with a wider audience.

At Fishcare, Dan combines his experience in program management and volunteer recruitment with his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He enjoys making fishing approachable, supporting volunteers and helping participants develop responsible fishing habits they can carry into their next adventure.

Eli’s studies led them to the Australian Dingo Foundation, where they have volunteered in animal husbandry, education and fundraising for five years. They also lead the Dingo Whiskers education program, sharing their enthusiasm for biodiversity with primary, secondary and tertiary students.

A 12-month sailing adventure with their family gave Eli the opportunity to experience different cultures and strengthened their values of inclusivity, determination and mindfulness. At Fishcare, they bring these values to welcoming learning experiences that help everyone find their own connection to the water.

Matt has worked alongside schools, landholders, volunteers and community organisations on projects that connect people with their environment. His leadership roles have included President of the Victorian Landcare Network and Weed Society of Victoria. In 2010, he represented Australia as a Landcare Ambassador in Sri Lanka, helping coordinate volunteers on a project supporting communities after the tsunami.

With family connections to East Gippsland dating back to the 1870s, Matt has a strong affection for its landscapes and plenty of local stories from his days as a Buchan Caves tour guide! Through Fishcare, he hopes to grow volunteer involvement, expand learning opportunities and encourage people to give back to the creeks, rivers and lakes they enjoy.
