Come and Try Fishing This Summer
VICTORIA’S SUMMER OF FISHING HAS ARRIVED WITH FISHCARE VICTORIA LAUNCHING ITS BIGGEST PROGRAM OF FAMILY FISHING WORKSHOPS OVER THE SUMMER SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.
Thirty two free fishing workshops are scheduled across Victoria designed for kids and families to have a fun morning or afternoon trying to hook up a fish or two.
The first workshops kick off with a double-header on Friday December 30 with Warrnambool in the West and Bemm River in the East.
Mike Burgess, Fishcare Victoria’s State Coordinator says, “There has never been a better time to learn life-long fishing skills at some of the State’s most picturesque coastal locations”
“Seeing kids catch their first fish is priceless for both their parents and ourselves at Fishcare”.
“Our passionate volunteers are expert local fishers who love giving back to their favourite pastime and help people fish the ‘right’ way.”
“Demonstrating sustainable fishing practices and attitudes is the hallmark of the Fishcare vision of creating the next generational of sustainable anglers”
Many fishing workshops are conducted in conjunction with Fisheries Victoria, local fishing clubs and the Summer By The Sea Program.
Booking is recommended to ensure enough equipment and in the event of unfavourable weather conditions. For all the details visit Fishcare Victoria’s Eventbrite portal.
Fishcare Victoria and the ‘Come and Try Fishing Summer Series’ is funded by the Victorian Government using Recreational Fishing Licence fees.
