First Aid Training and Melbourne AGM
After much anticipation, the Melbourne Mornington and Westernport Volunteers completed their in person first aid training at the Elwood Angling club rooms in December of this year. We are so pleased to be able to provide our volunteer working group and staff this opportunity and equip them with the skills and training they may need in the event of an emergency, relevant not just to Fishcare clinics but to the wider community. Well done to everyone who participated in the evening!
Our Annual General Meeting was held at Pipe makers Park on the Maribyrnong River and celebrated the achievements of our region, its volunteers, committee members, staff, and stakeholders. We said goodbye to our long-serving president and Secretary Brian Tracey and Karen Eccles who stepped down from their roles after 7 and 5 years of service respectively. Brian and Karen have personally mentored and supported me throughout my journey with Fishcare, including when I was a volunteer and throughout my role as Facilitator. Their service to our organisation will be greatly missed, but we wish them all the best with their future endeavours, which we know is a plenty!
We now warmly welcome Peter Thomas into the role of President, Rahul Korattyile as Secretary and State Delegate, Toni Ryan; Vice Secretary and returning to us, Vice President; Remy Baya and Treasurer; Justin Leonard. Thankyou to everyone who attended the Melbourne Mornington and Westernport Annual General Meeting and to our volunteer working group for your countless hours of service throughout 2020/21 we love your work, and it quite simply wouldn’t be the program it is without you.
