About Fishcare Victoria
Since 1995, Fishcare Victoria has been inspiring responsible fishing and care for our aquatic ecosystems. We’re a dynamic, community-based, not-for-profit organisation powered by passionate volunteers and funded through Victorian recreational fishing licence fees.
Our programs include:
🎣 Fun and engaging fishing clinics for kids and families
🏫 School-based education initiatives
🌱 All Ability – Fishing is for Everyone program
🎪 Community festivals, events, and conferences
What You’ll Do
As our Geelong/Ballarat Facilitator, you’ll:
- Recruit, train, and inspire volunteers across schools, angling clubs, disability providers, and community groups
- Deliver engaging fishing education programs at schools, festivals, and community events
- Lead and grow our All Ability – Fishing is for Everyone program, making fishing accessible to all
- Raise Fishcare’s profile through social media, website content, and public appearances
- Build strong partnerships with councils, agencies, and community groups
- Support volunteers with training, governance, and grant applications
- Contribute to statewide Fishcare strategy and action plans
Who We’re Looking For
We’re after a leader who is:
- Passionate about fishing, the outdoors, and sustainability
- Motivated, confident, and able to inspire and support others
- Skilled in community engagement, project management, and communication
- Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Tech savvy — social media and Microsoft Office are your friends
- Flexible, organised, and thrives in a role where no two days are the same
(Bonus points if you bring experience in natural resource management, education, fisheries, or community development.)
