Arcadia Open Day Success
Arcadia, Shepparton – In a delightful showcase of angling skills and community engagement, Fishcare Victoria hosted eight engaging fishing workshops at the recent Arcadia Open Day, held at the brand new freshwater hatchery just outside Shepparton. This event, masterfully conducted by the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA), offered a fantastic opportunity for attendees to learn about fishing and participate in hands-on activities.
The day was filled with excitement and educational experiences, designed to cater to anglers of all ages. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Fishcare Victoria volunteers and the seasoned expertise of Ian and Jenny, participants enjoyed a series of well-organised fishing clinics that highlighted effective fishing techniques and environmental stewardship.
One of the highlights of the event was the impressive catch of several Murray Cod, a native Australian fish renowned for its size and fighting spirit. These catches not only provided thrilling moments for the participants but also underscored the success of local conservation efforts and the health of the aquatic ecosystem at the new hatchery.
Special thanks are extended to the Victorian Fisheries Authority for their pivotal role in organizing this special event and to all the Fishcare Victoria volunteers whose dedication made the fishing clinics a resounding success.
The Arcadia Open Day stands as a testament to the community’s passion for fishing and conservation, and Fishcare Victoria looks forward to hosting more such events in the future to keep fostering a love for fishing and awareness about aquatic environments.
