FishAbility by Fishcare:Disability-friendly Fishing at St Helens, Geelong
facilitated by qualified Fishcare staff & volunteers.
These FishAbility sessions are part of an inclusive program FREE to Victorians living with a disability.
We aim to fish the St Helens Jetty or nearby rockwall area, and will have gear & banner visible to indicate our position (please see map).
Designed specifically to cater for all levels of ability, this accessible Fishing Event seeks to promote time in nature, social interaction, rehabilitation, & fun via Fishing.
Supported by our Fishcare Victoria staff and volunteers, all fishing gear & bait is provided for use, including adaptive options to suit specific physical needs.
We do request that support workers/carers accompany all participants, and play an active role in the overall well-being of the individual throughout the session – please indicate any specific needs in your booking details. Carers are NOT required to book a ticket for themselves.
ALL participants are covered under our Group Fishing Licence.
Please Note:
If you are unable to use a booking, please cancel via Eventbrite as soon as possible – these sessions are sought-after, with limited spaces available.
Cancellation of a session may be required by the organiser when predicted adverse weather or other conditions may be unsafe or unsuitable – notifications will be made via email & mobile SMS, sometimes within 24 hours of the intended start time.
FREE parking is available close to the fishing area & there are accessible public toilets nearby.

We may contact you regarding these sessions, for updates and/or cancellations, and for reporting purposes. We may add your email address to our mailing lists, from which you can unsubscribe at any time. Your personal information may be used to distribute content following an event, to collect feedback, or to contact you about future events – a failure to provide all necessary information on this registration form may result in not being able to register.
