Jude’s First Fishing Day at St Leonards Reserve: A Whopping Success!

Jude’s First Fishing Day at St Leonards Reserve: A Whopping Success!

On January 24th, little Jude had a big adventure at St Leonards Reserve. He joined the Geelong and Bellarine group for a “Come and Try Fishing Day,” and what a day it turned out to be!

At just five years old, Jude started a bit quiet, but with the help of the friendly group, he quickly caught onto the fun of fishing. Learning to cast like a pro, he surprised everyone, even himself.

The main catch of the day was carp—a fish not so great for Australia but perfect for beginners like Jude. The Geelong and Bellarine folks taught everyone, including Jude, the importance of fishing responsibly and taking care of our waters.

To everyone’s amazement, Jude caught four carp! The biggest one was a whopping 71cm and around 4kg. Imagine that for a beginner, and only at five years old!

Jude didn’t just learn to fish; he became the star of the day. The Geelong and Bellarine group cheered for his success, showing how everyone can enjoy fishing, no matter their age or experience.
