Fishcare Victoria has an exciting new position available as the Port Phillip & Westernport & All Ability Facilitator!!
This position will recruit and support volunteers within the Port Phillip region to deliver responsible fishing education programs. This involves coordination activities with stakeholders and project managing the new ‘All Ability – Fishing is for everyone’ program.
This is a community-based program to ensure fishing education and participation activities are promoting responsible fishing practices and care for aquatic environments.
This is a 2 year fixed term role based in Melbourne CBD with some travel required. Salary $69,321 + 9% super
The Role
Joining a small team, you will manage education projects and programs, assist volunteer groups and management of volunteer recruitment and develop and maintain working relationships with major stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate volunteer management and recruitment skills and experience as well as any experience in the disability sector. You will also have;
- Qualifications in fisheries management/natural resource management or similar preferred but not essential
- First Aid Level 2
- Experience working with community groups, as a volunteer or as a volunteer manager
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Experience in project management
- Experience in fishing sector would be an advantage
- Knowledge of fisheries management / natural resource management
- Knowledge of group dynamics, particularly in the area of volunteer management and the ability to motivate diverse groups
- Advanced communications skills and the ability to address large audiences
- Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
- Experience preparing grant applications, sponsorship proposals and other funding contracts
- Good attention to detail and the ability to manage and organise work
- IT Skills in terms of proficient use of MS Office packages and internet

Candidates must have a drivers licence with own reliable car – with ability to tow a trailer and a current working with children check.
You must have flexibility to work outside normal hours and and on weekends. No prior fisheries offences.
