New facilities for Central Highlands Dam

New facilities for Central Highlands Dam

The Central Highlands Fishcare Group has been hard at work installing new facilities at their private dam. This dam is regularly stocked with trout and students from the region regularly visit to try their luck at catching a stonka.

The Fishcare group volunteers applied for a local shire grant to purchase materials for the toilet facilities which makes visiting this private dam amenable for school groups to experience fishing with volunteers.

In very warm conditions on the 17th of December, volunteers worked together to erect a small garden shed that will house the new toilet at Murphy’s Dam. Special thanks go to volunteers Dave Chapple and new Central Highlands member Garry Drew, without their expertise and direction the volunteers might still be out there putting the shed together!
